Our Commitment to You and to Our Planet.

Sustainable, Thoughtful, Impactful and Health Conscious.
That’s our pledge to you and to our business.

We’re pretty big fans of Mother Earth and are not really into creating things that will harm her or you, for that matter and that’s why we’ve made a plan to become more sustainable by converting all of our future products to sustainable and human-loving fibers by the end of 2022.

We’re working with Canadian fabric companies that rely on ethical and sustainable sources for their products, require environmental certifications for their manufacturers and are working on innovative ways to reduce, reuse and divert as much material from landfills as we can.

Our plan is comprised of three main values.

Sustainable Sourcing: Choosing sustainable fabrics and recycled or biodegradable packaging.

Ethical Manufacturing: Working with Canadian companies that value their employees and the environment.

Quality Craftsmanship: Ensuring a properly designed and manufactured product that doesn’t end up in the landfill.

Sustainable Sourcing

The majority of our fabrics are made from TENCEL™ branded lyocell and modal fibers. These fabrics are produced by environmentally responsible processes from the sustainably sourced natural raw material, wood. They are luxuriously soft and are very durable. Learn More.

Cotton is very well known for it’s comfort and durability, but did you know that the growing process is extremely harmful to the environment? From the amount of water it takes to the abundant usage of pesticides, it’s a veritable menace. We know that we can’t get rid of cotton altogether, but we’ve decided to try to mitigate some of these issues by only using Organic Cotton from Closed Loop manufacturers.

We don’t usually create products with Polyester, but sometimes our limited collections feature an item that requires it. When that happens, we choose Repreve by Unifi. This material transforms recycled bottles into an amazing fiber and is used by the world’s leading brands to make athletic and fashion apparel and more. Unifi’s process embeds properties like wicking, adaptive warming and cooling, water repellency, and more at the fiber level. For reliable, durable quality. Learn More.

All of our purse and handbag liners, as well as and 99% of our stretch knit fabrics carry the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®️ label, which is one of the “world’s best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances”.

The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a worldwide consistent, independent testing & certification system that tests for harmful substances used during all stages of production (raw materials, intermediate, and end product). Learn More.

Ethical Manufacturing

All of our finished products are hand sewn in a small studio in Ontario, Canada. We’ve chosen to work with suppliers who are extremely transparent about their manufacturers and we know that they care about their product life-cycle as much as we do.

Part of that includes creating a positive and healthy work environment. We choose to work with suppliers who source their products from WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) Certified Facilities. This means they are compliant with WRAP’s 12 Principles, which include compliance with local laws and workplace regulations, prohibition of forced and child labor, fair and proper compensation and benefits and workplace hours and much more. Quality Craftsmanship

Our products are tested on a continual basis. We don’t just design something and then release it to the world (we may give sneek peeks on our Instagram), each product goes through various testing phases to ensure a great quality final product that we are proud to stand behind.

We test for wash ability (we aim for wash and wear, but sometimes the delicate lace needs some extra TLC), colour stability and wear. We take our customer feedback seriously, meaning when there’s a problem, we don’t slough it off, we use it to improve and innovate our product.

Offering our products in custom, made-for-you sizes allows us to create a product that is guaranteed to fit YOU (not an average body that “may” be close to your shape) and give you a product that is usable for years to come.

We give our products an up-close-and personal inspection before they’re packaged up, looking over every thread, every pocket, every seam. This guarantees a well-made item that we’re not only proud to stand behind, but proud to wear and use ourselves.

The Little Things

Part of our sustainability pledge includes as much diversion from landfills as possible. We like to use our scraps for fun things such as scrunchies, eye masks and even hair towels. Check out our Accessories line to see some of our “diversion” products.
